Thinking of Cooler Times in the Hot South

We're on the road again searching out stories and vineyards that will make for good conversations and discoveries. Right now we're boiling in the Deep South, and we've been thinking about our recent trip up north to the New York Finger Lakes and their crisp white Rieslings. And then our thoughts are moving even further up north to Canada to the wonderful cool nights and long sunny days that produce whites like northern France and Germany.
So, while we're plotting our next adventure - why not take a video look at one of our trips to the Finger Lakes. At the end of May we visited Lakewood Vineyards and met with Chris Stamp. He's the grandson who, with the rest of his family, carries on the traditions and expands on what the Finger Lakes can produce. From various whites to the delicate Pinot Noir, and even a bubbly white, you can enjoy all of them where they are grown, fermented, bottled, labeled and sold. The video is only 3 minutes long, but it will give you an idea of what is going on at the Seneca Lake AVA.
Remember, you've got literally dozens of places to see on just Seneca Lake. So pace yourself...
